(VIDEO) Danielle Collins produces iconic reaction to being asked to speak French at Internationaux de Strasbourg

Danielle Collins sealed an emphatic win over Katerina Siniakova on Wednesday at the 2024 Internationaux de Strasbourg 6-1, 6-2 but was left delighted to somewhat awkward during her post match interview.
Collins was first asked about Clara Burel and didn't look particularly delighted at the interviewer and their questions. But it got worse for said interviewer as Collins was asked to speak a few words in French. She initially agreed at first.
"I don’t believe we’ve played before. But yeah, she’s a great player and has had some great results this year. So I have to kind of sit down and do my homework," she said on facing Burel before being asked to speak French.
"May be a few words in French? We can try? Few words in French? Can we try? Few words? French words? Do you want to try?" he asked. But in hilarious and somewhat iconic fashion as usual for Collins, she rolled her eyes and gave side eye to the interviewer as he tried to make her speak French. She then promptly left the court at the end of the interview.
"Okay. Yeah. Let’s go," she said with a hesitant smile."Yeah. Put me on the spot, but okay," she added.
Collins has had a superb season with the American winning her maiden WTA 1000 title at the Miami Open and followed it up by winning a fourth career title at the Charleston Open. She had a 15-match winning streak which was only snapped by Aryna Sabalenka. With the demise of Elina Svitolina as well going.into the Quarter-Finals and now having to face Burel, she becomes favourite for the title.
Only as of late has she been defeated by Sabalenka and again in taking down Siniakova, she looked effortlessly good in the process. Albeit her French wasn't up to scratch in another iconic moment from the 30-year-old.
