(VIDEO) "In case the match is not going to be interesting": Kasatkina hilariously uses pre-match interview to plug YouTube channel

Russia’s tennis star Daria Kasatkina hilariously promoted her YouTube channel during the pre-match talk at the US Open 2023.

The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year is coming towards the business end where the remaining players are still battling it out to secure the ultimate glory.

Kasatkina’s journey in the mega-event came to an end after she suffered a defeat in straight sets in the round of the 16 to the newly-crowned world number one Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 6-1, 6-3.

Before that match, the world number hilariously promoted her YouTube channel in a pre-match interview when she was asked how she prepares for the night matches at the mega-event.

“Well honestly we spent the whole day yesterday thinking how to promote my YouTube channel,” she said. “And I think this is it guys. Subscribe. Just search my surname on YouTube and you’ll find it. And in case the match is not going to be interesting, you can always watch the YouTube.”

The defeat on Monday would’ve been a difficult blow for Kasatkina as once again, she fell short of reaching the quarterfinal stage of the US Open despite playing in the main draw for nine consecutive years.
