the double bounce drama at the Vika Ostapenko match Penko not holding back at the chair umpire
Jelena Ostapenko lost 3-6, 6-3, 5-7 to Victoria Azarenka who won through to the Brisbane International semi-finals in the early hours of Friday morning. But it wasn't without controversy with a double bounce seeing the Latvian feeling aggrieved and going berserk at the umpire.
Ostapenko thought it bounced twice going back on her side of the court as Azarenka smashed it and won the point, but as she did so the former had her hand up in protestation. She was denied the point as Azarenka went one game away from the win, but that wasn't the end of it.

Ostapenko kept protesting to the umpire that it bounced multiple times before it turned verbal by the former Grand Slam champion who told her she will never umpire another match involving her again. "You're blind, it's impossible to play. You make so many mistakes. It was three bounce(s). I never want you on my match again, you will never be on my match," said Ostapenko to the chair umpire.
"I don't want you on my matches, you ruin my matches," continued the former Roland Garros champion. She has been a known critic of the line judge system in the past and is not one to hold back on her feelings and this was another case as Azarenka then went on to seal the tie and Ostapenko heads out.
