Mirra Andreeva won't make it to the semi-finals of the 2024 Brisbane International after losing out to Linda Noskova in an all teenage clash 7-5, 6-3 in favour of the Czech ace.
It was the first all teenage Quarter-Final at a WTA 500 or higher since 2009 with Andreeva and Noskova proving themselves to be two of the rising talents to look out for in the sport going forward. Noskova proved to be too strong power wise for Andreeva who didn't play poorly but was well beaten in the end.

It was the story of breaks to begin the tie with Andreeva breaking to start proceedings, but she was immediately hit back. She had a chance again to go 3-2 up, but didn't take it and Noskova immediately responded to lead 4-2.
A sequence then began of both players breaking each others serves with Andreeva making it 4-3 and 5-4. But Noskova stepped up her level when it mattered most and broke for 7-5 and the opening set. Her serve improved in the second set and hit five aces and despite losing her serve to start off with, she didn't have the merry go round of constant breaks of serve. Andreeva couldn't find a response as Noskova took it 6-3 in the second and will now face Elena Rybakina for a spot in the final.
