Aryna Sabalenka is through to the semi-finals of the 2023 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix prevailing over her close friend Paula Badosa 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Facing a close friend is always difficult and Sabalenka admitted that post match saying that she was conflicted at times whether or not to scream and celebrate given their close friendship.
But also had some nice words for her post match saying her comeback into the top 10 in her eyes is coming. “It was absolutely crazy. She played unbelievable tennis today. I just tried to keep fighting, keep trying to find my game. She’s a great player & I’m sure very soon she’ll be back in top 10," said Sabalenka.
"We played against each other a lot of matches. There were some moments on court where I was about to scream 'come on' then I was like 'I don't know, should I or not. She's my friend, she'll be thinking I'm stupid'. But anyway I was screaming like I'll speak to you later it's fine."
