Former US Open champion Emma Raduanu back at Flushing Meadows
Emma Raducanu appears to be getting ready to make her return to action and unlike other compatriots such as Jack Draper and Sonay Kartal it seems will not be taking the rest of the clay court season off.
Raducanu has been out for quite a long time sitting out Miami, Linz and also Madrid at the start of the clay court season. She was thrashed by her good friend Amanda Anisimova at Indian Wells and has been suffering with the remnants of a viral illness since she reached the final of Cluj back in early Spring.
But the tennis world saw yesterday how she had hired Andrew Richardson back as her coach at least for now for the first time since winning the US Open and she was later confirmed to be training with Eva Lys today.
This of course spawned content between the pair on the Rome socials with Raducanu joking that she'd be playing with Eva's sister Bella instead who accompanies her a lot on tour and Lys herself saying that she is getting taller and better at tennis than her despite being a kid.
Images later spawned of her training on video and it seems like she is very much taking her return seriously as she is practicing three times today as she looks for answers amid her recent illness struggles
The draw for Rome is out on Monday so she will soon know her fate, same goes for Lys who is also looking for form again after injury and criticism levied at her by home media for her loss to Shuai Zhang in Madrid with some calling on her for going out partying with Coco Gauff then losing. But both will look to let their tennis do the talking amid the criticism sent their direction.
