Amanda Anisimova put all the recent final defeats behind her to win the China Open, defeating Linda Noskova 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 to clinch her second WTA 1000 title.
The world number four has had an incredible rise in 2025. Once touted as an incredible youngster, she had to take the scenic route to rise to the top. She has had to suffer incredibly harsh defeats, including the Wimbledon final where she failed to win a single game against a rampant Iga Swiatek. Coming off another missed opportunity in the US Open final, Anisimova was not going to let this one pass.
She was competely dominant in the first set, playing some great tennis to bagel her opponent and go one set away from victory. It was looking very routine for Anisimova, but the Czech star forced her way back into it, breaking right at the start of the second set. She would go on to save two break points from her on-court rival ahead of clinching another break to give her plenty of breathing room. She wrapped up the set to force level affairs.
It was a relatively even start to the third set, before Anisimova showed her class, winning the final four games to defeat Noskova and clinch glory in Beijing.

Anisimova thankful after match

It was always going to be an uphill battle for Noskova, who at 20-years-old has made her first WTA 1000 final. She did pick up some praise from her opponent after the match had concluded.
"It’s been an incredible few weeks. I want to congratulate Linda — you’ve been playing amazing," Anisimova said in her speech. "I mean, you’re also so young still, so I’m sure we have a lot more finals to play in. I’m excited to see you progress and see how your career goes. I’m sure it’s going to be really great. So congratulations to you and your team on an incredible few weeks here and for making it to the final."
She followed that up by praising the passionate fans in Beijing, along with the tournament organisers and everyone who participated in running this tournament. "I’m sure not just me, but every single player has felt so much love here. It’s incredible — you guys are amazing," she said. "I’ve felt a lot of love this entire two weeks. I want to thank the organising committee, all the sponsors, the ball kids, the volunteers, the chair umpires, physios, doctors, the tournament director and supervisor — everyone who makes this tournament possible. It’s such an incredible one. I’ve had the best time here and you guys really put on a great tournament. So thank you so much."
She saved the best till last, thanking her team and family for supporting and helping her achieve this incredible feat. "Wow, what a two weeks it’s been! We’ve had a lot of challenges, but despite that, we’ve also had so much fun and worked really hard. It’s crazy that we made it this far, and to get the win today has been really special. Thank you for sharing that with me — you guys are the best. I’m excited for a lot more, and hopefully we can keep going.
"To my family back home — I’m sure you’re watching right now. I’m so excited to talk to you guys and see you soon. I love you. And to my nephews, who I think might be watching — hi Jackson, hi Kylo, I love you guys."
She will now traverse across China to Wuhan, where she will eye-up back-to-back WTA 1000 titles in the Wuhan Open.
