The Where is Peng Shuai situation which has been developing in recent weeks could see the WTA pull out of their multi million pound business deals with China if a solution is not found.
The Chinese tennis star has not been seen since she made allegations against ex vice premier, Zhang Gaoli with China denying any knowledge of the situation as a whole and a dubious email being sent to WTA Chief, Steve Simon.
Simon himself spoke to CNN and said it was bigger than the business - for the WTA, they have hosted multiple big tournaments including the WTA Finals in Shenzhen.
"We're definitely willing to pull our business and deal with all the complications that come with it," said Simon. "Because this is certainly, this is bigger than the business."
"Women need to be respected and not censored."
He also discussed the email which was sent reiterating that they won't accept it until they have a chance to speak to her themselves.
"Whether she was coerced into writing it, someone wrote it for her, we don't know," said Simon. "But at this point I don't think there's any validity in it and we won't be comfortable until we have a chance to speak with her," he added.

The head of the Women's Tennis Association has said he is willing to lose hundreds of millions of dollars worth of business in China if tennis player Peng Shuai's is not fully accounted for and her allegations investigated. cnn.it/3x9C5DC
