The
draw has been confirmed for the 2023
Japan Open which sees the return of tennis to Asia on the WTA side albeit not in China just yet. But the first tournament will see a return to Osaka for a WTA 250.
Albeit not a great field for the week post-US Open. Lesia Tsurenko, and Peyton Stearns among others were due to play, but the latter had a great run at Flushing Meadows. Rest is likely in order.
Instead, it is Lin Zhu who will headline the field, with other top seeds including Tatjana Maria and Xinyu Wang. Linda Fruhvirtova who will face Harriet Dart as well and Jule Niemeier who faces Anna Kalinskaya are top ties.
Yulia Putintseva and Jil Teichmann are also in the draw and it will all kick off on Monday in Osaka.
