WTA Prize Money Leaders Update: Elena Rybakina stretches lead despite losing Indian Wells final to Aryna Sabalenka

The WTA Prize Money Leaders have been updated for the latest week after Indian Wells took place which saw Aryna Sabalenka crowned as champion in a final between perhaps two of the best players in the world right now in Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina.

Rybakina, the Australian Open champion still leads the way unlike the WTA Rankings which see Sabalenka as the insurmountable World No.1 and will for a while to come. The WTA Prize Money Leaders update on the otherhand offers more of a glimpse at those who are more in form as of right now as opposed to over a year.

Rybakina has been the best player in WTA Tennis over the past six months so leads the way ahead of Sabalenka in regards to this table and she wasn't usurped this week as despite losing in the final, Rybakina managed to stretch her lead by doing so. She added $564,920 since the last update and sits still top.

While Sabalenka added $1,085,220 to her total and sits on $2,699,517 compared to her old total of $1,614,297 which saw her only marginally ahead of Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina. While both have added to their totals this past week with Pegula winning $162,110 and Svitolina with $297,315, there is now a small gap.

Gap opens up

Rybakina and Sabalenka over the three million and two million marks while Pegula, Svitolina and Gauff sit behind in the $1m+ range. Iga Swiatek is sixth but could be caught by Victoria Mboko who added further to her total with $181,160 this past week as she sits in seventh. While Karolina Muchova was also the other big winner adding $81,752 to hers.

But while those are the big winners prize money wise, there are further ranking climbers in the overall list. Mainly though this comes down to doubles. Linda Noskova is up from 41st to 16th after a good few weeks singles wise. Katerina Siniakova is also up to 17th. She had a good week over both singles and doubles.

While further good weeks for Anna Danilina, Cristina Bucsa and Zheng Shuai who for the latter two went down but had a big boost prize money wise.

Talia Gibson after her standout run too is also up to 32nd. Emma Raducanu also moves slightly up in total earnings to $372,694 now to 36th in this list.
