John Isner had a pledge about donating 100 dollars for every ace he hits at the
Dallas Open and Yibing Wu jokingly took credit for his 44 aces in the final.
Isner played a really strong match in the Dallas Open hitting 44 aces in the match which accumulated to a 4400 dollar donation. Combined for the event it was 138 aces and a total commitment of 13800 dollars. Despite that effort, Isner lost the final to Wu with the Chinese player joking about his ace total.
He said:
“It was a tough match. I'm facing, I don't know 100 aces. It's a good thing he has this $100 thing, this makes more kids happy. I will take credit for that, because I'm not even moving when he serves."
Wu became the first Chinese player to win an ATP trophy.
