The ATP Tour makes it's annual stop in Asia, this time descending on the city of Tokyo which will play host to the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships from October 03-09, 2022.
An ATP 500 event, the Japan Open is the longest-running ATP Tour tournament in Asia, first held in 1972. Suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, it makes it's return with a star-studded lineup.
Norwegian Casper Ruud, and Great Britain's Cameron Norrie are scheduled to compete, as they will also be bringing some star-power to the event.
Joining the top-tier of players is Nick Kyrgios, as the Aussie will look to bounce back from his heart-breaking quarterfinal loss to Karen Khachanov at the US Open. Compatriot Alex De Minaur is also scheduled to compete, as are Denis Shapovalov and the in-form Frances Tiafoe. Hometown hero Kei Nishikori has been granted a wildcard entry to the event, with the Japanese star having lifted the trophy in 2012 and 2014.
The event will feature a 32-player singles field and a 16-team doubles draw. Below is the list of entrants.
