Casper Ruud looks to have already planned out the start to his 2026 campaign. The first nine tournaments he will be competing at have been listed on his
website.
The three-time Grand Slam finalist will be looking to get back to the form tennis fans know he is capable of. He showed it in glimpses last season, finally succeeding in clinching a maiden Masters 1000 title after he defeated Jack Draper in the Madrid Open. He also ended the year on a positive note, defeating Ugo Humbert to take home the Stockholm Open title. He also made the final of the Dallas Open, was runner-up in the revamped US Open mixed doubles event partnering Iga Swiatek, and made the semi-finals of the Japan Open where a stunning Carlos Alcaraz brushed him aside enroute to the title.
However, slight cracks have started to show up. He managed just three wins in Grand Slam events this year, failing to get past the second round in all major events besides Wimbledon, where despite his hatred of grass being very well-known, he was focusing on starting a family. He finished outside of the top 10 for the first time since 2020, finishing as the world number 12. He competed in 19 competitions in 2025, the lowest amount since 13 in 2020. If he can get a string of events under his belt while playing a high level, then there is a chance that he could fly back up the rankings. He will be hoping that it starts in the first nine events he has pencilled in for the next campaign.
Ruud schedule for start of 2026
He will start 2026 by competing for his country in the United Cup Down Under, from Friday, 2nd January - Sunday, 11th January. He will represent Norway, and is by far the standout player. Last year, despite Ruud winning both of his games, Norway finished bottom of their group behind Poland and Czech Republic. He will follow this up by hopping across the Tasman sea to New Zealand to compete in the ASB Classic commencing on 12th - 17th January. Swiftly after that, he will travers back to Melbourne where he will compete in the Australian Open among the biggest talents in the world. It will get underway Sunday, 18th January - Sunday, 1st February.
Following from that, the 26-year-old will then make the jump to the USA. He will begin with a return to the Dallas Open, as he looks to go one step further. It will last from Monday, 9th February - Sunday, 15th February. There will not be much time for Ruud to put his feet up, as he then goes to the Delray Beach Open from Monday, 16th February - Monday, 23rd February. The last event before the Sunshine double is the Mexican Open. Once more, it is right after the prior event, going from Monday, 23rd February - Saturday, 28th February.
The big tournaments return, with the first Masters 1000 events of the year taking full attention. He will go back to America, specifically California, to compete in the Indian Wells Open. Action will be held from Wednesday, 4th March - Sunday, 15th March. It is a quick turnaround as the tennis circus goes to the other side of the country for the Miami Open. The tournament in Florida will start on Wednesday, 18th March - Sunday, 29th March.
The last event etched in for Ruud is a third consecutive Masters 1000 event, this time the Monte-Carlo Masters, taking place from Sunday, 5th April - Sunday, 12th April. Ruud was the finalist here back in 2023 and despite it being a non-mandatory event, the former world number two is raring to get his clay swing started, with it notoriously being his favourite surface.
