Alexander Zverev will not play the
Sofia Open next week which starts on November 6 and he has made this decision only hours away from the draw which will take place on Saturday November 4 at 7:30pm local time.
Zverev reached the Last 16 at the Paris Masters and took the late entry to the Sofia Open which replaces the Tel Aviv Open due to the ongoing issues in Israel and was the landmark player involved.
But this was done with one tournament in mind and that is the
ATP Finals which Zverev is now confirmed for and so he doesn't need to risk his body ahead of Turin which takes place the week after.
Maximillian Marterer, his compatriot will now take his spot in the draw despite being in a semi-final of a Challenger tournament this weekend himself. With the absence of Zverev, Lorenzo Musetti and Adrian Mannarino will lead the draw later this evening.
