Former World No.1
Andy Murray has named three young players who could fill the role of the "Big Three" when they eventually all retire.
The British star singled out World No.5
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who came close to knocking off Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open.
“The players that I like to watch? I like watching Tsitsipas, I think he has a great game,” Murray told the Moselle Open YouTube Channel.
The three-time Grand Slam believes Spanish teenager
Carlos Alcaraz has a huge future in the game.
“I like watching Alcaraz as well," revealed Murray. "I know he is a little young but I think he’s going to be great for tennis. He is a top player.”
Finally, Murray believes that
Lorenzo Musetti has all the tools to be a great clay court champion
“Musetti on clay, I’ve really enjoyed watching his game as well, so there isn’t just one,” added Murray.
Musetti is yet to win a singles title on tour, but Murray feels that he will be a force on clay in years to come.
Additionally, Murray also believes that new World No.1
Daniil Medvedev will enjoy more success on the tour and in Grand Slams.
“And I know he’s not young, but I do really like watching Medvedev play too. I think he’s got a very different game style to a lot of players.
“He looks very unorthodox and I like people that aren’t your textbook tennis player.
“It depends, a lot of coaches I think in the UK are very fascinated by technique and strokes, but he doesn’t have that. He is unbelievably smart on the court.”
