Former world number one Murray was set to help his country at the inaugural ATP Cup and to play his first Grand Slam after 12 months.
After months of preparations, it was revealed, that Murray won't be ready to play at the ATP Cup and Australian Open. A few days ago, Murray has
won the 2019 ATP Comeback player of the year award and he was set to travel to Miami for the training.
But he did not as Murray and his team also decided not to travel to Australia for the ATP Cup and Australian Open. Great Britain will be facing Belgium, Bulgaria and Moldova
in Sydney in Group C.
We were able to see Murray on the court last time at the Davis Cup Finals where
he defeated Griekspoor. Then,
he said that he felt some pain and therefore he did not play more. “I had a bit of an issue with my groin, pelvis. I wanted to play but I wasn’t allowed to risk it.”
Now it was revealed, that Murray will stay at home and train to build up fitness instead of traveling to Australia. Murray will be aiming to get ready for the 2020 Wimbledon where many of his fans want to see him play.
