"As a kid, I've been dreaming about it": Rune sets Olympic ambiiton

Holger Rune had an amazing 2022 French Open and he can't wait to play on the same courts for the 2024 Olympic Games that will be hosted by the city of Paris.

They say that every athlete dreams of the Olympic Games and it certainly holds true for Rune. He had many dreams as a young man but the Olympics are something special and his first chance to experience it will come next year. He confirmed it in a talk with tennis 365 admitting that he can't wait for them:

“It is [a big goal of mine]. I am super excited for it. It’s going to be next year, 2024 in Paris. I always play great in Paris and I am excited for it. It’s a great event.“As a kid, I’ve been dreaming about it as well, so it will soon be a reality.”

He's been playing on clay since he was little and he plays really well on it. Playing on clay at the Olympics doesn't come often so he's ready for it. He does consider it his best surface alongside hard courts:

“I think hard court and clay [are my best surfaces]. I still have to get some more experience on grass, but I feel like my game, the aggressive game style I have is good for grass and I move well.“I just have to practice more on it and get used to it. And I think I can be as good as I am on hard court and clay.”
