Basilashvili cleared of abusing ex-wife: "All these false accusations were very difficult for me to bear"

Nikoloz Basilashvili has been cleared of abusing his ex-wife by the Tbilisi City Court following the conclusion of a two-year trial.

The past two years have been very turbulent for Nikoloz Basilashvili. He was facing time in prison for apparently abusing his ex-wife as well as struggling with his tennis in general. The trial concluded recently and Basilashvili was cleared of all charges leaving him relieved that it's finally over.

"All these false accusations were very difficult for me to bear, and I am very glad that it’s all over. The priority for me now is to restore my relationship with my child."

The Georgian will now look to restore his career as well as it suffered greatly with him unable to play consistent enough tennis. He posted a 14-29 record this year.
