Some users on social media joked about
Carlos Alcaraz giving up the sport already when his name sake was announced to have signed for Juventus and it also spurned a comment from the former World No.1 himself on their social media.
Juventus announced a six-month loan deal for the Southampton midfielder, Carlos Alcaraz with the Argentine ace joining until the end of the season with an option to make it permanent for around $51m. He joined Southampton last year from Racing Club in Argentina with three goals and an assist this season in the Championship, England's second tier.
Following the announcement, fans jokingly tagged Alcaraz, the tennis player in the comments to which he hilariously replied and got a wink emoji back from Juventus. "I'll try my Best! Thanks for the trust 😂 🙏🏼 ," Alcaraz commented.
Ironically given the football star is from Argentina, Alcaraz will be playing in Buenos Aires in the coming weeks as he begins South American clay. This after an underwhelming Australian Open by his standards which saw him lose out to Alexander Zverev.
"Well, it has been a good tournament for me, making quarterfinals, playing good tennis, serving pretty well that I didn't show this good level of serves that I was showing before this match. So but in general, you know, I leave the tournament happy," Alcaraz said. "But as I said, with the level that I was playing before, coming into this match with a lot of confidence, knowing that I'm playing good tennis is, it's a shame that I started the match like the way that I did and ending the way that I did. But it's tennis," he added.
