De Minaur and Pospisil advance to US Open 4th with

Alex de Minaur and Vasek Pospisil had to fight back from being down to win their US Open 3rd round matches and they did.

After defeating Milos Raonic in the previous round, Vasek Pospisil continued his good play against Bautista Agut. The Canadian was serving quite well in the 1st set which won him the set 7-5. The 2nd set didn't go so well for Pospisil as Bautista finally managed to get a good grip on his serves. He read them much better and generally played much better. That was more than enough to win the 2nd set 6-2.

The 3rd set was much closer than the previous one but once again Bautista found a way to break Pospisil which is a hard thing to do at this event. Both players continued playing well on their serve and Bautista was especially focused on his own serve as he knew the value of a break. It would be enough to win the set 6-4. But Pospisil wasn't done as he once again managed to fight back against Bautista and win the next set with 6-3.

The next set opened with another early break for Pospisil who looked primed to defeat Bautista and reach the 4th round. Midway through he the set he added yet another break as Bautista looked completely depleted. He would go on to win the final set 6-2.

Karen Khachanov had a tough task as he faced Alex De Minaur who played very well in the earlier rounds. He continued his good play early in this match taking an early 3-1 lead which he gave up late in the set. Luckily for him, Khachanov allowed him to break once more to make it 6-4 for De Minaur. The 2nd set was when it all turned upside down for De Minaur.

Khachanov came out furiously in the 2nd set hitting shot after shot. De Minaur served poorly and that was taken advantage of by Khachanov who cruised to a 6-0 2nd set victory. Despite the number suggesting so, it wasn't an easy set. The battle continued in the 3rd set with Khachanov taking an early break which he held for the majority of the set winning it 6-4.

The next set was when De Minaur took over again, and he played well securing it with 6-3. He entered the final set with momentum and he got the break he needed early in the set making it 3-1. He would add another one before closing it out with 6-1. It was a strong display and finish from the Australian who moves to the 4th round.
