Thanasi Kokkinakis suffered another tough loss at a grand slam as the Australian was beaten by Karen Khachanov in a Roland Garros (French Open) match that he could have won.
The Australian was up a break in the opening set but allowed Khachanov to break back and get into the match. The Russian ultimately turned the whole set around and smashed a very confused Kokkinakis in the second. The Aussie battled back in the 3rd set taking it and was up a break in the 4th set but lost in heartbreaking fashion.
There was a tense exchange between Kokkinakis and the umpire when the Australian was stunned that the umpire wasn't going to give him a toilet break. He questioned the umpire on that:
"You’re telling me I’ve got 50 seconds. Can you just be realistic and [give me] something decent for once? F***ing s***. We get two for a match. Do you want me to p*** on the floor? Is that what you want? What do you want then?"
Unforunately the rules in tennis state that you only have two toiled breaks in a best of five set which Eurosport analyst Schett referenced:
"That was quite urgent there for Thanasi Kokkinakis. It’s pretty strict, you can have two toilet breaks in a five-setter. Obviously, in the first set, Thanasi went out already, but why does he have to go so often? That’s my question!"
Check out the exchange.
