Rafael Nadal will mark his 37th birthday by receiving results after undergoing surgery in Barcelona on Friday night on his left psoas muscle.
Nadal announced only a few weeks ago that he wouldn't play Roland Garros and that most likely the 2024 season will be his last.
Now his journey begins towards that as he targets the troublesome muscle which has not responded well to treatment and has seen him sidelined since the Australian Open.
The muscle in question has been put to the test throughout his career and it has shown this season.
He had it conducted at the Barcelona Medical Center, known for it's superb facilities albeit this will be a crucial moment in his attempt to return to the court.
