The draw has been completed on the ATP side for the Indian Wells Open which is due to take place between March 5-16 at Tennis Paradise led by top seeds Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz.
The main news is that Alcaraz could meet Novak Djokovic in the Quarter-Finals in a draw which is bad for the tournament organisers as they will drop one of two big names. Zverev could face Stefanos Tsitsipas, while Casper Ruud and Daniil Medvedev are locked in.
Taylor Fritz and Andrey Rublev adorn the Djokovic-Alcaraz section so the winners meet in the semi-finals. Zverev opens up against the winner of Miomir Kecmanovic v Tallon Griekspoor.
Djokovic opens up against Nick Kyrgios or a qualifier on his road to that Quarter-Final showdown with Carlos Alcaraz. While Carlos Alcaraz starts his title defence against either Quentin Halys or a qualifier.
Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on the winner of Thiago Seyboth Wild or Alexandre Muller after his return to form in the past week winning Dubai. Casper Ruud faces either Marcos Giron or a qualifier in his first match. Taylor Fritz, the 2022 champion faces either Sebastian Baez or a qualifier in his first match.
Two-time finalist Daniil Medvedev in a bit of a crisis moment of his career faces the winner of Yunchokate Bu or Nishesh Basavareddy. Andrey Rublev faces the winner of Matteo Arnaldi or Aleksandar Kovacevic.
Other ties to watch include Jacob Fearnley v Joao Fonseca, two rising stars of the game. The winner could face Jack Draper. While Jan-Lennard Struff faces Gael Monfils, the winner plays Sebastian Korda.
There is of course no Jannik Sinner either in Tennis Paradise. He will not play any part in the Sunshine Double or any events until Rome at the very least in May as he currently serves a three month suspension. He took this instead of having to go to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) so the men's draw is without its World No.1.
