While the Miami Open isn't quite over just yet, the attention will soon turn to Houston on the ATP Tour for the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship which is due to take place between March 31 - April 6, 2025 and marks the start of the run to Roland Garros.
As ever, the Sunshine Double technically marks the move to clay as the last hard court tournaments for some time with Charleston, Houston next week followed by Rouen and Stuttgart on the WTA for instance as well as Monte-Carlo for the men.
As expected many of the top men's talents from the US will in fact stay home for a week longer to play Houston including Tommy Paul who is top seed. He faces Cristian Garin or Alexander Ritschard in the second round in Houston.
Frances Tiafoe is also involved and will face Michael Mmoh or Adam Walton. Alejandro Tabilo is one of the only seeds who aren't American and will face Taro Daniel or a qualifier.
While Brandon Nakashima and Alex Michelsen are also in the top five, the latter faces the toughest draw of all against Learner Tien. Kei Nishikori after withdrawing late from the Miami Open also returns and will face Rinky Hijikata or Christopher Eubanks.
Last year saw Ben Shelton defeat Frances Tiafoe to claim the title but he won't return this time around. But aside from Shelton and perhaps Taylor Fritz, most of the top American's are involved over the next week with a very similar field to last year.
