The clay season for players who love clay will continue past the Roland Garros in events such as Forte Village Sardegna Open with the field full of clay-court specialists.
The Forte Village Sardegna Open is one of four ATP 250 events added to the provisional schedule amidst the Coronavirus pandemic and it will feature a strong field of clay-court specialists. The event is set to run from the 12th till the 18th of October. Many players who enjoy playing on clay will attend this event in a bid to win one of the last clay-court events as the weather turns and we start the indoor season.
The field is headlined by Fabio Fognini who is a formidable clay-court player capable of beating anyone. He will be joined by players such as Dusan Lajovic and Casper Ruud. The Norwegian recently featured in his first Master's semifinal in Rome losing only to Novak Djokovic.
Italy will be represented by Lorenzo Sonego in the main draw but Gianluca Mager, Salvatore Caruso, and Andreas Seppi are also in the main draw after the withdrawal of some players. Another three Italians received a wild-card as Marco Cecchinato, Lorenzo Musetti, and Giulio Zeppieri will also play in the main draw.
