Another solid match happened today at the
Laver Cup with
Taylor Fritz beating
Cameron Norrie 6-1 4-6 10-8.
It was a very entertaining match that levelled the score between Team World and Team Europe but the start was anything but entertaining. A very slow and sluggish Norrie got blasted off the court by a very inspired Fritz who wasted no time in any rallies bombarding away.
It was a quick set that finished 6-1 for Fritz but Norrie responded well in the second set. A big of cheering on by the crowd, some tips from legends in his team and Norrie was able to switch some things in his game with great results. An early break however Fritz would soon respond and make it 2-2 again. From there it was a balanced match but Norrie was the one who got the break again.
Fritz was a bit too quick in some rallies and he didn't hit as many balls as he did in the opening set. The Brit held his serve to make it 6-4 and send us into another match tiebreak. It was good, and a close one but for the most it Fritz had the upper hand. Every time Norrie needed to make a play he didn't and Fritz kept him in with some poor choices.
In the end 10-8 in teh final set and 4-4 between the teams. Up next are Djokovic and Tiafoe.
