France’s Alex Muller believes that it is harder to play
against Serbia’s legendary tennis player
Novak Djokovic compared to the current
world number one Spain’s
Carlos Alcaraz.
Muller suffered a thumping defeat against the 36-year-old in
the first round of the
US Open with a score of 6-0, 6-2, 6-3.
Muller, while talking to the media after the match, stated that
Djokovic is harder to play against compared to Alcaraz as he does not give away
anything free.
“Alcaraz gives you a little more air and I felt that I could
play games,” he said. “But Djokovic gave me the impression that if he wanted to
hit me with a triple 6-0, he could’ve done it. Novak does not give you free
points and does not give you anything.”
Both Djokovic and Alcaraz are on their way to compete in the
final of the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year.
The current world number two booked his place in the third
round of the mega event after defeating Spain’s Bernabe Zapata Miralles in straight
sets with a score of 6-4, 6-1, 6-1.
On the other hand, Alcaraz has already booked his place in
the round of 32 of the competition after beating South Africa’s Lloyd Harris in
straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-1, 7-6.
