Tennis sensation
Carlos Alcaraz has been extremely successful over the past year as he wrecks havoc on the ATP circuit, and the Spaniard has been lauded by several in the tennis community, including compatriot Pablo Llamas Ruiz.
Alcaraz lifted his maiden Grand Slam title at last year's
US Open, before winning a handful of Masters 1000 titles. The 20-year old would go on to claim his second Major title at the 2023
Wimbledon Championships, ascending to World No.1 in the process.
Llamas Ruiz hopes to emulate his compatriot's success
In an interview with the ATP Tour, Llamas Ruiz heaped praise on Alcaraz, pointing out his achievements and the path taken to reach those milestones.
"I'm proud of that, I'm so happy for him," said Llamas Ruiz. "Hopefully, someday I can play in the same tournaments and on the same courts as him.
"Everyone, as I always say, has their own path. He’s taken his, and he couldn’t have done any better, and I’ll try and take mine so that someday I can share the court with him and even try to catch him, why not?"
Llamas Ruiz is hoping to compete at the 2023
Next Gen ATP Finals, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from November 28 to December 2.
