The fans reacted to Carlos Alcaraz's withdrawal from the Rome Open and compared it to Rafael Nadal. The young Spanish player suffered a new injury, this time in his right forearm, and will miss a tournament for the third time in the clay swing, after being absent in the Monte-Carlo Masters and Barcelona Open.
The world No. 3 was this week at the Madrid Open, where he was the defending champion for two consecutive years, but failed to defend the title after falling in the quarterfinals against world No. 8 Andrey Rublev, who will play the final of the tournament on Sunday against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
"Unfortunately I will not be able to play in Rome. I need to rest so I can recover and play 100% pain free. I am very sorry, I will see you next year," Alcaraz wrote on his social media."
Fans reacted to yet another injury for Alcaraz. This same week in Madrid, Jannik Sinner withdrew before taking to the court for the quarterfinals, and Daniil Medvedev retired in the middle of the quarterfinals against Jiri Lehecka
“ATP needs to do something IMMEDIATELY with the quality of its tennis balls. So much inconsistency that is hurting the players…hurting their availability and longevity…therefore hurting the game of tennis.”
“Rafa part 2 incoming”
“So his netflix serie is gonna be 90% of the time in the hospital????? Lets just hope Netflix is cooking smtg for us”

"He has to rest his arm. I know he wants to play but he's young still. Plenty of play time AFTER he gives his muscle plenty of time to heal."
