The 2026 Brisbane International will take place from January 4 to 11 at the Queensland Tennis Centre, marking the start of the Australian summer tour. The event will feature former world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev as the main favorite and defending champion Jiri Lehecka, alongside prominent stars Nick Kyrgios, Denis Shapovalov, and Joao Fonseca.
This ATP 250 category tournament has been held since 2009 and has boasted elite champions such as Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Murray, and Grigor Dimitrov, among others. Back in 2025, Jiri Lehecka defeated Reilly Opelka in the final following the American's retirement due to injury after only five games played (4-1, ret.).
As one of the lead-up events to the Australian Open, it will serve to gauge the form of some of the Tour's top players at the start of the year. Up to nine players inside the top 30 will join the draw, a mix of experience—with players like Cameron Norrie and Grigor Dimitrov joining the field—alongside rising youngsters like Fonseca, Learner Tien, and Alex Michelsen.
The tournament will also feature the return of former Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios, who will play his first tournament of the season after receiving a wildcard from the organization, while waiting to see if he will be granted a wildcard for the upcoming Australian Open. The 30-year-old player will return to the courts for the first time after participating in the Battle of the Sexes on December 28 in Dubai.

How and where to watch

The Brisbane International, which will be played during the first week of competition, will be visible through the usual ATP Tour tournament broadcasters. In the USA, Tennis Channel will be in charge of transmitting the matches live, while in the United Kingdom, Sky UK will handle the broadcasts.
In Australia, the transmissions will once again be handled by beIN Sports Australia, while in Latin America, the rights remain with ESPN International and also the Disney+ LATAM platform.
