With the
Laver Cup set to return in 2021 after a year's hiatus,
Nick Kyrgios appears eager to represent Team World as they attempt to finally dethrone Team Europe.
The Australian has participated in every Laver Cup since 2017, accumulating a 4-3 record. Known for performing his best in a team environment, Kyrgios will have an opportunity to realize a dream, playing at TD Garden, as this year's event will be hosted in Boston.
“The Laver Cup is my favorite week of the year, and I love being part of the team,” Kyrgios said. “Playing in the TD Garden, the home of the Celtics, would be unreal."
The World No.95 will be joining the likes of American John Isner and Canadians'
Denis Shapovalov and
Felix Auger-Aliassime, as they try to wrestle the stranglehold that Team Europe has on the event, with the Europeans winning each of the past three editions.
“Boston fans love their sports, so if we can win the Laver Cup anywhere, TD Garden and Boston, one of the world’s greatest sports cities, are the place to do it,” added Kyrgios.
The Laver Cup will run from September 24-26, 2021.
