Rafa Nadal & Carlos Alcaraz’ reaction after winning their first ever doubles match together at the Olympics. Arms in the air. They share a hug. This team is something special. Nadalcaraz all day long. 🥹 🇪🇸❤️
Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz managed to overcome a tough test in the first round of the mixed doubles against the Argentinean pair formed by Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni by 7-6 and 6-4 at the Olympic Games.
Beyond the joy of the Spaniards, Nadal did not like at all the schedule in which his singles match is scheduled for Sunday and did not hide his frustration with the ITF.
The Spanish pair, one of the top contenders for the gold medal, started off on the right foot this evening at the Philippe Chatrier easing past the sixth seeds after two hours.
In a conversation with the local media at the end of the match in the Parisian night, Nadal was upset with the schedule of the schedules for Sunday, when he will face Hungary's Marton Fucsovics in the first round of the men's singles.
"At 2 o'clock I play? I don't understand the schedule. I don't know, I really don't know, I don't know, I really don't know. I'll have to go back to the Villa, let's see what happens. I'm going to talk to the team and I'll make the decision I think is best to have more options to get results for Spain."
He has already been in doubt most of the week for singles with Carlos Moya sharing injury doubts and while he looked good against the Argentines, a poor draw against Novak Djokovic next and the fact he would likely have to play again on Monday in doubles would have to be taken into account.
