The semifinals of the ATP Finals 2023 will treat tennis fans to a fourth and final duel between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic in 2023. The world No. 2 will face the No. 1 for a place in the grand final of the last event of the season, while Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev will meet in the other semifinal.
Alcaraz managed to move through to the semis of the ATP Finals after defeating Medvedev, who was already qualified before the start of the match, in two sets (6-4, 6-4). The Spaniard managed to recover from his initial defeat against Alexander Zverev without dropping a set against Andrey Rublev or Medvedev himself.
After his victory over Daniil Medvedev, Carlos Alcaraz spoke about how excited he is to meet Djokovic once again, stating that he is expecting one of the toughest duels of his entire career. "It's one of the toughest challenges I'm going to face. To meet Novak in the ATP Finals, a tournament he has won six times.
Even so, the Spaniard also assures that he faces the challenge with great enthusiasm: "Obviously, Novak is Novak. He is the best player in the world right now. He only lost 6 matches this year. That means he's incredible. I'm going to play my best tennis. I'm going to enjoy it. The same way I've been doing these last few matches. I'm excited to face Novak." The match will be played this Saturday, November 18.
