Carlos
Alcaraz recently shared insights into the importance of taking breaks and
enjoying life off the court. The recent
Wimbledon champion emphasised the
necessity of downtime, explaining that it helps him recharge and return to the
game with renewed energy.
Reflecting
on his trip to Ibiza with friends to celebrate his
French Open title—his third
Grand Slam victory—Alcaraz underscored how crucial it is to step away from
tennis occasionally. After his thrilling final victory over
Alexander Zverev,
where he came back from two sets down, Alcaraz was seen enjoying a
well-deserved break in Ibiza, as documented on social media.

the importance of downtime
In an
interview with Relevo, the 21-year-old discussed his holistic approach to
training, which includes not just rigorous practice sessions with coach Juan
Carlos Ferrero but also moments of relaxation with friends. “I firmly believe
that people work for something, not just for themselves but in general,”
Alcaraz noted.
“People
work to afford certain things and then enjoy them with their loved ones. I’m
living a dream, playing and winning these tournaments is incredible, but I also
want time for myself. I don’t want to be a slave to tennis and miss out on
life.”
“These
small trips to Ibiza, a few nights with friends, enjoying, having time to rest,
and time for myself—I believe it’s fundamental and very necessary to perform
well and come back to the court with charged batteries,” the four-time Grand
Slam champion added.

After his
successes at the French Open and Wimbledon, Alcaraz is now preparing for his
next challenge in Paris at the
Olympic Games, which will be held on the clay
courts of
Roland Garros. Alcaraz, in peak form, is the favourite to win, given
his stellar performance at the same venue earlier this year.
