Nick Kyrgios' Australian Open participation is in doubt after pulling out of a second straight tournament in the form of the Sydney Tennis Classic as a result of testing positive for COVID-19.
Kyrgios couldn't play in Melbourne due to Asthma saying that he took multiple tests but they came back negative. This time though, he has caught Coronavirus despite having no symptoms to report.
The battle is now on for the Aussie ace to be fit in time for the Grand Slam with no preparation set ahead of the tournament now.
"Hey everyone, I just want to be open and transparent with everyone," he wrote on social media.
"The reason I have had to pull out of Sydney is because I tested positive for Covid. I am feeling healthy at the moment with no symptoms.
"I wish everyone all the best and to stay safe where you can.
"If all goes well I will see you all at the Australian Open."
