Missing Indian Wells and Miami disappointment will disappate if Djokovic allowed to play US Open according to Thiem

Dominic Thiem is of the opinion that Djokovic's US Open participation will be more important for Djokovic than missing Indian Wells and the Miami Open.

It's hard to argue against that because that event would be the bigger priority if you asked Djokovic himself because it's a grand slam event. He's getting older and there are only a few opportunities left for him to play at one. It's even more important after he already missed two last year (Australian Open and US Open).

Speaking to Eurosport, Thiem said:

"I guess the main thing for Novak is that the rule changes in some weeks that it's probably a hundred percent sure that he can play the US Open and probably that's more important for him as he already has I don't know, 36, 37 Masters 1000 titles. So I guess it's more important for him that he's able to play the US Open in September."

He added:

"It's been four years, I guess, that he hasn't played there. So, let's see if he's gonna be in Miami."
