Set your alarms early as Monday is a day of action at the Australian Open you do not want to miss.
Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios is a grudge match which many tennis fans look forward to at a Grand Slam or even a lower tournament and it will be played out again on home turf for the latter at the Australian Open.
Kyrgios has been playing some of his best tennis of his career this week; especially against Karen Khachanov in the third round in a match that was lauded with praise. Has the Australian who has got so much criticism come of age?
Questions will be there as to whether Kyrgios will try to frustrate Nadal; the duo are known not to get on and the last time they played in a Grand Slam was their famous Wimbledon clash which the Aussie stole the headlines in due to his underarm serve being utilised.
Memories will flood back for Kyrgios to his victory at Acapulco last year and even his loss at Wimbledon but he will have to knock off a Nadal who is towards full flight.
The Spaniard led his country to the final at the ATP Cup and hasn't dropped a set in Melbourne, he has only let one set go past 6-4 when he took on Pablo Carreno Busta; he will hope for similar when he takes on Kyrgios tomorrow. It is a match that begins at 8am UK time so ample time to watch a real blockbuster match over your morning coffee.
Thiem and Zverev aim to continue dazzling form
If you are up for being awake even earlier, three top ties also await on Monday morning. All beginning with Gael Monfils against Dominic Thiem.
Thiem, fifth seed carries a flawless 5-0 record into their tie and after two ties which have seen him spend six hours on the court.
Monfils at the age of 33 continues to show that despite his years being now limited that he is towards the top of his game and he will have to overcome an opponent that he hasn't had the best of times against recently.
Similar dominance will be on display with Alexander Zverev taking on Andrey Rublev. The German holds a 3-0 lead over him on head to head and has won all six sets they've played. He has also been making a real breakthrough in Melbourne not dropping a set so far as he looks to emerge under the guise of the big three.
Medvedev a title contender?
Daniil Medvedev has also been superb so far in Melbourne and 2020 in general posting a 7-1 record buoyed by a good run at the ATP Cup and he has comfortably lived up to expectations when it comes to title potential.
He has had previous success as well against Stan Wawrinka leading their Head2Head 2-0 winning both at Grand Slams and he seems to have the recipe for success in big ties against the Swiss ace and he will hope for the same on Monday. Overall a don't miss day of action is set as the fourth round continues in Melbourne.
