Former World No. 1
Andy Murray is set to feature in a new television documentary series that will offer a rare look into his life following retirement from professional tennis.
The project, which remains untitled, will follow Murray and his wife, Kim Sears, as they navigate their post-tennis lives while overseeing their growing business interests away from the ATP Tour. The series is expected to provide viewers with unprecedented access to aspects of Murray's life that have largely remained private throughout his career.
Since stepping away from professional tennis, Murray has shifted his attention toward a number of ventures outside the sport. Among them, the Cromlix Hotel in Dunblane, Scotland, has become one of his most significant projects and will reportedly serve as a central focus of the documentary.
While Murray has appeared in several documentaries throughout his playing career, those productions largely centred on his achievements, injuries and comeback attempts. This latest project marks a notable departure by focusing primarily on his family life, business activities and adjustment to retirement.
A rare look beyond the tennis court
Few players of Murray's stature have maintained such a carefully guarded private life throughout their careers. During more than two decades in the spotlight, the Briton generally kept public attention focused on his tennis, offering only occasional glimpses into life away from the court.
The new series is expected to change that. According to
The Sun, viewers will see Murray in a different setting from the intense competitor who spent years competing at the highest level of the sport. Rather than following tournament schedules and training blocks, the programme will focus on the day-to-day realities of life after retirement.
Murray retired as one of the most accomplished players of his generation. His career included three Grand Slam titles, two Wimbledon championships, two Olympic gold medals and 41 ATP Tour singles titles. He also spent 41 weeks as World No. 1 and became one of the defining figures of an era dominated by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Cromlix Hotel takes centre stage
A major part of the documentary will reportedly centre on Cromlix, the luxury hotel Murray purchased in 2013 for approximately £1.8 million. Located near his hometown of Dunblane, the property has become one of the cornerstone investments of the Murray family portfolio.
The five-star hotel has undergone significant development under Murray's ownership and represents a long-term commitment away from tennis. Running the business has become an increasingly important part of his schedule since retirement, alongside various investment projects and occasional coaching commitments.
By documenting the challenges and opportunities involved in operating a luxury hospitality business, the series is expected to reveal a side of Murray that tennis fans rarely see. Rather than focusing on rankings, results and tournament pressure, the programme will explore the responsibilities that now occupy his time.
