Cameron Norrie continued his superb form of the courts of Atlanta over night as he saw off
Nick Kyrgios in a terrific display 6-1, 6-4 needing only 57 minutes to see off the 2016 champion at the
Atlanta Open.
The Brit who won in Los Cabos last weekend after deciding not to play the Olympic Games to prepare the US Hard Court swing has vindicated his decision with a great run of performances.
Kyrgios struggled to find rhythm throughout the tie but Norrie didn't give him one opportunity saving the one break point he faced as he looks to head towards the semi-finals for a third straight appearance in Atlanta.
Next up will be Emil Ruusuvuori who won through against Benoit Paire with the Frenchman who has been in superb form as of late retiring due to heat illness.
While
John Isner down his compatriot Jack Sock to move through to the Quarter-Finals also winning 7-6(6), 6-4 as he pursues a sixth Atlanta Open title.
It was a match of fine margins with only three break points throughout but Isner came good when it mattered despite surprisingly having less aces than his opponent with 15 compared to 13 but this wasn't a factor in the end as he set up a tie with Christopher O'Connell who downed Jannik Sinner yesterday.
