Jim Courier knows a thing or two about winning Slams and the former champion does not expect Federer to ever win a slam again.
It's been an unfortunate two-year spell for Roger Federer who saw his age catch up to him with his injury list getting bigger. Federer is having a lot of issues with his knee and he was forced to undergo three surgeries in the last two years which has made his time on the court quite rare. While the Swiss ace is adamant that he will make a comeback in tennis Courier believes expectations should be minimal.
During an appearance on the Tennis Channel Courier agreed with Andy Roddick about his assessment that Federer will never win a Grand Slam again:
"I agree on Roger. It's very realistic about his chances. He has talked about maybe not even playing until 2023. So we will see. We will have our fingers crossed for him. and hope that we get to see him very competitively next season."
Federer himself spoke recently about his comeback admitting that he does not want to rush it and only return when he is fully healthy. It might take a while and there is a chance he will even miss Wimbledon which would be a shame.
