Novak Djokovic had the record for most consecutive Grand Slam tiebreaks won but that will not be extended after the second set of his clash with Carlos Alcaraz in the final of 2023 Wimbledon.
Djokovic made it to 15 in the end as he broke the record against Hubert Hurkacz, but to the delight of the crowd that was over.
The Serbian ace was ironically cheered as he was given a time violation serving at 4-5 in the second set tiebreak.
He won the point in the end but Alcaraz went on to seal the set and now the outrageous record is over.
A true exhibit of Djokovic's dominance but now Alcaraz has a foothold in the tie which he will look to utilise.
