Paris Masters 2024 Day 3 Preview & Schedule: Fritz vs Draper, Zverev, Medvedev in Action (Oct 30)

It is Day Three of the 2024 Paris Masters and the schedule is now set as Round Two takes Centre Stage with some top ties awaiting us on Wednesday 30 October. Our preview runs a rule over which ones to watch.

The top tie of the day has to be Taylor Fritz facing Jack Draper which is set for around 5pm CET on Wednesday afternoon albeit not on the Centre Court. Court 1 is the main one to watch as such with many of the ties with relevance on there.

Draper won through his opener against Jiri Lehecka fairly comfortably on Tuesday and returns again confident as ever after winning the Vienna Open. While for Fritz, it is almost a double edged sword.

Of course he wants to win. But he has already secured his spot in Turin doing so without playing and it is his 27th birthday so dependent on what plans he has after, it might be one with a shock on the cards adding in also how good Draper has played and Fritz's minimum play since his own US Open run. Could be an interesting one for sure.

Organisers would've hoped to have seen Jannik Sinner today but he withdrew with an intestinal virus which has left a massive gap and also a chance. Ben Shelton and Arthur Cazaux are the ones to benefit. The Frenchman gets his big moment in front of his home crowd, while Shelton gets to continue his good form after losing in the final of Basel to Mpetshi Perricard last week. So a big opportunity awaits to drift through.

Also on the Central Court, Alexander Zverev who is third seed and the favourite now alongside Alcaraz for the title opens his campaign against Tallon Griekspoor. Prior to that, we get the Vienna runner-up Karen Khachanov facing the Basel winner, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Both on form but the ace machine will be firing them down the line again in unstoppable fashion.

Like alluded to Court One perhaps holds more cards. Holger Rune faces Alexander Bublik in a real showman affair. While Miomir Kecmanovic faces an Alex de Minaur hoping to keep his ATP Finals hopes firmly alive. Two ties to watch with vested interest.

Beginning the day is Alex Michelsen facing Arthur Rinderknech, Grigor Dimitrov taking on Tomas Martin Etcheverry and finally Daniil Medvedev. Another favourite set to start his campaign. He faces Alexei Popyrin who took down Matteo Berrettini yesterday.

Jan-Lennard Struff will aim to shut down French magic man Arthur Fils. It starts a spate of Frenchman starting before the Mpetshi Perricard main course. Ugo Humbert in between against Marcos Giron as Adrian Mannarino faces Zizou Bergs. Perhaps shunted onto Court Two as it is not Richard Gasquet. A top day awaits in Paris-Bercy.

In the famous words of U2, 'With or Without You' which certainly applies to Jannik Sinner as tennis goes on and a line-up befitting of that. takes Centre Stage at the AccorHotels Arena on Wednesday.
