Novak Djokovic reiterated his vaccine stance in his BBC interview from a few days ago and the tennis community had a mixed response.
One prominent tennis figure who responded to the stance is long-time tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou. The French coach knows Djokovic and had a chance to observe him closely when the Serbian used his facilities to train. Most notably it was last year when he played Medvedev in a 'heated' practice match ahead of the Paris Masters.
Mouratoglou explained his opinion on his Instagram page saying:
"So I would think that after what happened in Australia he would have said, 'OK, you know, I can become the greatest of all times, i really have a big shot for that, I accept to be vaccinated, plus if I do so, people will stop being against me' but he took the opposite way."
He further sadi:
"I think that someone who stands by his beliefs, even though the immense majority of the people are going against him, deserves total respect whatever your opinion on the subject is."
It's a fair opinion by Mouratoglou that is shared by some people while the majority of people had a negative decision. Some even took it further blasting Djokovic for his stance explaining how it is bad for the tennis community.
