The
Next Gen ATP Finals are set to take place in November once again after the tournament with some of the hottest prospects in Tennis was shelved in 2020.
Jannik Sinner is the defending champion and in the race to Milan, he is leading the way. The Italian will return to home soil seemingly with 1,520 points seeing him lead proceedings.
This despite losing on his return to action after Wimbledon to Christopher O'Connell at Atlanta. He will hope to further his cause at the US Open series.
As will
Felix Auger-Aliassime who now sits at eight finals and eight defeats but the ever improving Canadian is currently World No.15 and sits alongside Sinner with 1,365 points.
Rounding out the top three is
Sebastian Korda who is now up to a career high of No.46 with victory at the Emilia-Romagna seeing a breakout for the American who is the son of Petr Korda.
He is currently ahead on 1,045 points ahead of two of the highest touted prospects in
Lorenzo Musetti and recent first-time ATP winner,
Carlos Alcaraz on 811 and 779 respectively.
Recent Hall of Fame Open finalist Jenson Brooksby and Hugo Gaston who reached the final in Gstaad sit inside the top eight.
All Next Gen ATP stars are aged 21 and under and they compete for a place in Milan and one of seven spots with the eighth spot going to an Italian wildcard to be decided.
Brandon Nakashima (9th), Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune (11th) and Thiago Seyboth-Wild (15th) sit just outside those spots currently with a lot still to play for.
