World no. 2 and the 20-time Major champion
Rafael Nadal secured the fourth Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, the third in a row to extend the streak.
Since 2004, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have been the only players who have received the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, with 13 of those finishing in the hands of the Swiss and four traveling to Spain. Nadal was thrilled to receive the award for the fourth time, saying he would find a special place for it in his museum, as he did with the previous three. Nadal won two ATP titles in 2020 and lifted the 20th Major crown to join Roger Federer at the top of the GOAT race ahead of 2021.
"Hello everyone. It means a lot to me to win another Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award. It is an important trophy for me, and I will keep it close to the other three. I want to thank all my colleagues for thinking I'm the right one to receive the sportsmanship award. When someone asks me how I want to be remembered, I always respond that I want them to remember me as a good person and then a tennis player. That's why this award means a lot to me, and I will find a special place for it in my museum," Rafael Nadal said.
