With the clay court season on the way, Rafael Nadal will hope that it goes better than his hard court efforts and it seems he will at least make it to the Monte-Carlo Masters which begins on April 6, 2024.
According to French journalist, Remi Bourrieres, Rafael Nadal had an MRI on his back after experiencing the pain that took him out of Indian Wells and the result has showed no area of concern or damage going forward in good news for fans of the Spaniard.
Whether he will have any more setbacks before the clay court season begins remains to be seen, but at least for now, he will go into the next period of the season and a pivotal one with some confidence. For many, it was seen as the retirement portion for Nadal and one that he was aiming for.
With Roland Garros and an Olympic Games also on the surface on the horizon as well as stops back home in Madrid and Barcelona, Nadal will be fairly busy on clay in the coming months. But there was some doubts that he would even make it given that he withdrew from Doha, Australian Open and recently Indian Wells.
But he has only played Brisbane and the Netflix Slam exhibition as of late which has caused some concern. He has been confirmed though on the Entry List for the upcoming Monte-Carlo Masters so that is one tournament at least to tick off for the new clay court season.
