Legendary tennis player
Rafael Nadal has welcomed Columbian
singer Sebastian Yatra and Spanish basketball player Rudy Fernandez to his academy
in Mallorca.
The 37-year-old is currently going through a lengthy injury break
as he continues to recover from a hip injury sustained during the Australian
Open earlier in the year.
Despite his fitness problems, which are keeping him out of
action, Nadal continues to attract other stars to his academy which is located
in his home town Mallorca.
Recently, the 22-time Grand Slam winner welcomed singer Yatra
and basketball player Fernandez to his academy.
The picture of the three standing together will give Nadal
fans some renewed hope of seeing their favourite player on the tennis court in
the future once again.
The Mallorca-born has struggled with fitness concerns in the
recent past and has already announced that the next season will be his last at
the highest level.
Nadal is currently the second-most successful player in the
men’s singles history in the Open era, having won 22 Grand Slam titles, just
behind Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
Out of his 22 triumphs, 14 of them came in the
French Open which
led to him being called the ‘King of Clay’.
Other than his 14 titles in Paris, Nadal has also won two
Australian Open, two
Wimbledon and four US Open titles.
