Roger Federer is the latest tennis player to announce he got vaccinated as he prepares to return to tennis at the Geneva Open.
Federer is only the 2nd high profile tennis name that has gotten fully vaccinated after Simona Halep announced she was vaccinated prior to the Miami Open. The Swiss ace who is preparing to return to action at the Geneva Open said:
"Yes I am vaccinated. I took the Pfizer. I am happy to have been able to do it with all the trips I make. I have done it mostly for others, I don’t want to give it to someone else. We have to be careful, we are very careful.”
Federer joined Halep is getting vaccinated the only high-profile names to do so. There has been a lot of scepticism in the world of tennis regarding COVID-19 vaccination with several players such as Rublev and Sabalenka expressed hesitation about getting vaccinated.
Naomi Osaka has been another name that has spoken favourably on vaccination saying she would do it as soon she could. Federer will return to action most likely on Tuesday at the Geneva Open where he will play either Jordan Thompson or Pablo Andujar.
