Italy’s young tennis star
Jannik Sinner has finally met his
fanclub during the
US Open 2023.
The fourth and final Grand Slam is moving towards the final
phase where remaining players are battling it out to secure the ultimate glory.
Sinner, who has already booked his place in the round of 16
where he will face Germany’s Alexander Zverev on Sunday, has a fanclub with the name
of ‘Carota Boys’.
The 22-year-old met his supporters during the mega-event and
took a photograph with them which was shared by Carota Boys on their Instagram account
with a title of ‘We cannot believe it’.
Sinner is one of the most highly-rated tennis star in the
circuit and many believes that he is the only young player who can give a tough
fight to the current world number one Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz.
The San Candido-born defeated Switzerland’s veteran tennis
star Stan Wawrinka in the round of 32 clash with a score of 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2
on Friday.
That result put Sinner just one win away from equaling his
best record while playing at the US Open. Last year, he played in the quarterfinal
at Flashing Medows where he ended up on the losing side to Alcaraz in a
five-set thriller with a score of 6-3, 6-7, 6-7, 7-5, 6-3.
