Carlos
Alcaraz secured victory at the
Six Kings Slam 6-4, 6-2 and set up a final clash
with
Rafael Nadal. The 4-time Grand Slam champion displayed a high level of
play, winning 100% of points on his first serve and conceding just three points
on his serve throughout the set.
Rune
started on serve and saved the first break point against him with a great first
serve. It was the most tense moment in the early stages of the match, as both
players held their serve comfortably until 4-4. At that point, Rune began to
struggle with his serve again, and Alcaraz capitalized to break and then serve
out the set, winning it 6-4.
At the
start of the second set, Alcaraz carried the momentum from the previous
minutes, taking advantage of Rune's second serves and breaking early. The world
No. 2 was superior to the Dane throughout the second set, constantly putting
him under pressure.
In the 5th
game, the Spaniard secured another break and continued to show no deficiencies
on serve. Despite only landing 43% of first serves, Alcaraz maintained a 100%
win rate on his first serve, just like in the first set. Although Rune managed
to save one final service game, Alcaraz eventually closed out the match 6-4,
6-2.
